Scrambled Eggs Staged Reading | July 16th
Human rights and the individual's right to bodily autonomy are things that most would consider deeply important to them (I'd hope). More specifically, an individuals right to an abortion - for ANY reason, be it medical, personal, or just because they do not want to carry a child - is an issue that is deeply personal and important to me.
This month I will be participating in a fundraiser for the National Network of Abortion Funds. The space has been generously donated to us, and the cast has provided the fees for the technician out of our own pockets. ALL proceeds from tickets and streaming will go to the National Network of Abortion Funds.

I would deeply appreciate it if you could come out or sit in to stream one of the best new plays of the year, and support human rights in the process.
I promise you - you will not regret it.

Why Scrambled Eggs?
Scrambled Eggs examines another time less than one hundred years ago where women were not permitted the right to be in charge of what happens to their own bodies (or in this case - minds).
I had the privilege of being a part of a fully staged production of the play last fall, and in the wake of Roe V. Wade being unjustly overturned, Jessica Marie Fisher's dissection of power dynamics within patriarchal society felt more timely than ever.
When the news broke in June 2022, we couldn't sit around, staring at our phones and crying anymore. We decided we needed to do something tangible - so we chose to take action in one of the best ways we knew we could - through the arts.

I recognize how incredibly lucky I am to live in a state that views women/those with uteruses as equal citizens, but unfortunately not everyone is as lucky. My heart is shattered over and over again every time I think about what a young girl in the religious south will go through when she finds out she's pregnant, and how completely alone she is going to feel. I hope that this can help even just one person feel supported.
Please, please donate. Local funds need our support more than ever.
